PMI - CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROVIDER OF THE YEAR

PMI created this annual award as a way to acknowledge a certified Registered Education Providers who has provided outstanding service to the Project Management community and helped promote our profession.  Of all the REPs in the world, one company is chosen per year!

From the submission package:

“The Displaced-Worker Project Management Program at SUNY Stony Brook is the first program of its kind offered in the United States.  As a response to the economic downturn and large job losses by project professionals on Long Island and New York City, it was specifically designed and delivered by Total Systems Education (TSE) to assist the out of work professionals retool and enhance their project management skills, earn their PMP or CAPM credential, treat re-employment as a project, and ultimately, return to the workforce.

Funding for these displaced professionals was secured through a partnership formed with the three Department of Labor Workforce Boards on Long Island, mostly from money in the ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009).  The first training session began in March 2009.  Since then, more than 350 people have successfully completed the Stony Brook program.  Of them, 98 have confirmed full time employment in project management related positions, 5 have contract employment, 50 have earned their PMP and 5 their CAPM credential.

In August of 2009, Total Systems offered the program to Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina.  To date, 14 of the 45 participants have successfully returned to the work force!”

Both programs continue to run in each venue, as do our Displaced-Worker Business Analysis Programs.

We are so extremely proud and humbled by the real-life success of these programs and the participants they’ve helped, that we feel we’ve already won!

The winner of this global award from PMI is to be announced soon, stay tuned.
