TSE037 Project Cost Management

The Practical Approach to Budget and Cost

Course Description

Now, more so than ever before, organizations are watching every dollar, euro and yen.  Project Managers are asked to do more, with better quality, for less, with less.  How well project teams estimate and manage the costs of their projects can be the difference between success and failure!

The course is designed to follow the Cost Management Knowledge Area of the PMI® PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) but in a very practical way!  It’s goal is to prepare participants for on-the-job cost estimating, budgeting and controlling, while providing the added benefit of following the PMI® approach.

Participants involved with PMI and the Project Management Professional – PMP program are awarded 8 PDUs or “Contact hours”.  Upon client request, the workshop will be taught as a PMP/CAPM Exam Preparation session to assist team members wanting to earn their PMP or CAPM Certification.

Upon completion of this workshop, each participant will be able to:

Instructional methods for this one-day module are lecture, discussion, exercises, simulations and workshops.  Reference to and inclusion of the PMI® PMBOK – FIFTH Edition are certainly included and applied to real-world situations. Session also has participant discussions and feedback of on going project situations. UPON REQUEST, use of internal processes and reporting will be added, as will hands-on use of advanced Microsoft Project cost and budget features.
